A poem by Allie
The dark clouds roll in overhead.
While thunder booms, when lightning says,
the lonely child in his bed starts crying
with fear and dread.
And in the darkest corner in his room
the shadow smiles.
The rain's now pounding on the walls
and it sounds like little rats feet,
Now the child's mouth can't help but scream
for he's now afraid to die.
And underneath the child's dresser
the shadow smiles.
The mother's running to his room
rushing to her child,
through scary rooms,
and dim dark stairs,
she came without a mutter.
But in the candle's flickering shadow,
the shadow smiles.
When the childs eyes meet his mother,
she smiles and he cries.
She comes over to her child,
and calms him down a bit.
But he cries some more when thunder crashes,
And underneath the child's bed
the shadow smiles.
So when you are scared and start to cry,
please remember this,
somewhere in your haunted house
the shadow smiles.
